1.
Do I need and appointment to have my lab tests performed?
No appointment is needed for out patient testing.
2.
Do I need to be fasting?
Most physicians will tell you if they want you to fast. If you are not sure, contact the laboratory.
3.
I have an out of town physician. Can I still have my lab tests done at the Palo Verde Hospital?
Yes, you can as long as you have an order signed by your physician or health care practitioner.
4.
Can I take my medication before my lab tests?
In most cases, unless your doctor tells you to hold your medication, you should take them as prescribed. The exceptions to this is if you are on lanoxin (heart medication) and the doctor wants a digoxin level run. Blood for a digoxin level must be drawn at least 6 hours after the last dose.
